In Lviv, territorial election committee prohibited to let journalists be present at vote counting
26.05.2014, 12:04
On May 25, the filming crew of the TV channel ZIK were not allowed to watch vote counting at several voting stations in Lviv. Members of most election committees wanted to work behind the closed doors.
Committee members would not open the doors or would honestly admit that the territorial election committee instructed to not let the journalists in. At the territorial election committee, the journalists were not able to find out who made the calls and what the instruction was.
The Law on Presidential Elections in Ukraine sets no limitations on presence of representatives of mass media and time when they can be present at voting stations.
