In Lviv, "Samopomich" engaged journalists of defunct media outlet

16.11.2015, 22:32

On November 15 at night, the headquarters of the political party “Samopomich” brought security video recording cameras to all local polling stations. The people overseeing the recording at the polling stations are observers from “Samopomich” or journalists from the media outlet “Pyatnytsia”, or other media outlets affiliated with the party. The civil network "Opora" activists reported this at their briefing. As the media outlet "Vholos" reports, the "Pyatnytsia" media outlet ceased its operation in April 2013, and since then even its website has not been maintained. According to "Vholos", when the newspaper was active (in 2012), the majority of its employees were also employees of the the acting Lviv mayor’s press service.

For the context, the Law of Ukraine "On local elections" allows observers from candidates to conduct video recording at polling stations.
