In Lviv region, city council member threatens journalist with physical violence

29.03.2016, 13:38

On March 25, a deputy of Sambir town council in Lvivska oblast, Yaroslav Kuzmiak, threatened to "tear off legs" of the journalists of the media outlet “Sambirska hazeta”, member of the National Journalist Union, Yuriy Leskiv. The town council member voiced multiple similar threats to the journalist in a rude form, using obscene expressions. The newspaper’s editorial staff reported this at their Facebook page.

The council member was outraged by the journalist's publication in the newspaper uncovering some shadow schemes of land plot allocation that was supposed to be granted to 18 veterans.

Yuriy Leskiv immediately addressed local police about the threats, giving audio record as a proof.
