In the evening of June 26, the TV broadcasting tower was targeted with the anti-tank guided missile "Fagot" in the vicinity of Popasna, Luhanska oblast. At this time, the Vice-Minister of Information Policy Tetiana Popova was supposed to pay a visit there, yet her visit was cancelled due to security concerns, “Novyny Donbasu” report. The tower itself was not hit, a crater from the shell explosion was located about 400 meters to the east from it.
The shelling of the tower was registered by the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.
