In Luhanska oblast, reporter of TV channel "112 Ukraina" has gone missing

05.08.2014, 00:13

In Luhanska oblast, the reporter of the TV channel "112 Ukraina" Roman Hnatiuk has gone missing. This was reported on the TV channel’s website.

Roman Hnatiuk was sent there on an editorial assignment to visit the crash site of the Malaysia Airlines airplane and cover the work of the OSCE experts on site. The connection with him was lost on August 1.

At the time of the last communication with him, Hnatiuk was moving on the road from the town of Uspenky (Luhanska oblast) in the direction of Donetsk.

The Anti-Terrorist Operation HQ says he was not detained by the Ukrainian law-enforcement officers as he passed none of their checkpoints.

The Council of National Security and Defense promised to help look for him.  The TV channel already sent a request to the Minister of Internal Affairs to help find him and asks anybody that possesses any relevant information about the journalist’s whereabouts to share this information with the TV channel (contact phone - 044-389-39-26, email: [email protected].)
