In Kyivska oblast, deputy of Rozhivka village council attacked filming crew of TV channel 2+2

In February, in the village of Rozhivka, Kyivska oblast, when the filming crew of the program “Lustrator” of the TV channel 2+2 was investigating the abuse of power by the head of the village council Sofia Velychenko, a local council deputy and Velychenko’s husband Leonid Velychenko attached the crew, took away the video camera and a cell phone of the journalist Iryna Matviyenko. This was reported in a news story at the TV channel.

Velychenko attacked the crew near his wife’s house and hid their belongings in his subordinate’s car and then accused them of attacking him.  

Local police arrived to the scene but nothing has been done.
