In Kyiv, unidentified people attacked journalist at site of businessman's murder and broke his camera. Police refused to intervene

18.04.2016, 15:02

On April 6, unidentified people attacked the journalist of the TV channel NTN Vitaliy Franziuk and broke his camera when he tried to record footage from the site of the murder.

The incident took place at Druzhby Narodiv Boulevard near the sports club where the businessman was shot. Vitaliy was one of the first people to arrive to the site, and as soon as he upholstered his camera, he was approached by an angry man, who yelled that recording was forbidden. The man demanded to stop the recording. Vitaliy said that he was doing his job. After that, several men ran up to the correspondent and tried to pry off his camera. Near the attackers, Vitaliy noticed a police officer, a major, who ignored the journalist's request for help. After two more police officers appeared, the attackers left the cameraman, but the camera was broken by that time. Only in two hours, police accepted the journalist’s complaint about the attack.
