In Kyiv, activist and journalist Volodymyr Martsyshevky was abducted and tortured to death

On June 14, a civil activist, Euromaidan participant, and journalist of the media outlet “Kameniar-info” Volodymyr  Martsyshevky died of beating.

Around 1 p.m. on June 11, unidentified men in camouflage abducted him from the office of Maidan press center in Kyiv. According to the media outlet “Kameniar-info”, a severely beaten Volodymyr Martsyshevky was found in the evening of June 11 in Berezniaky rayon of the capital. He sustained 8 broken ribs and badly damaged lungs. He was awake but he did not know who beat him.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched a criminal investigation of his murder.

The editor-in-chief of “Kameniar-info” Kostiantyn Kameniar believes this is related rather to his civil activism, not to his work as a journalist.
