In Konotop, local TV channel receives prank bomb call

The police officers in the city of Konotop, Sumska oblast, detained and brought to criminal responsibility the perpetrator, who on June 14 informed the administration of a local TV station about the bomb planted in the channel’s premises. This was reported in the communications department of police of Sumska oblast.

Konotop police station received a phone call from the staff of one of the local TV channels, who reported that around 2:20 p.m. an unidentified inebriated man entered their building and claimed explosives were planted in the building.

The specialists of the explosive ordinance disposal section of the Chief Department of National Police and K-9 police teams searched the building of the TV and Radio Company and found no explosive devices or substances. The TV and Radio Company resumed its operation.

Almost immediately based on the description, the police officers identified and detained the joker, a 55-y.o. local resident. A criminal case was started.
