In Khersonska oblast, activists chased journalists away from Crimean blockade site

23.11.2015, 23:41

On November 21, near the urban type village of Chaplynka (Khersonska oblast), participants of the "Blockade of Crimea" action and "Right Sector" representatives were impeding the work of the journalist from the local media outlet "Khersonski Visti". In particular, the action participants were pushing journalist Linda Metsger, and did not allow cameraman Oleksiy Stavytskyi to conduct video recording. The filming crew arrived to Chaplynka to cover the conflict between the blockade activists and police near the transmission tower damaged by the explosions. After the journalists showed their IDs, they were forbidden to leave the car or conduct video record, and forced to turn back under threat of flipping the car over. One of the staff members of the newspaper was also beaten. The journalists filed a complaint to the police about this case.
