In Kharkiv, unidentified individual threatened journalist, advising her "not to meddle in others’ business"
On April 17 in Kharkiv, an unidentified man threatened the head of Kharkiv branch of the Independent Media Trade Union of Ukraine (IMTUU) and investigator journalist of the web-portal “Stroiobzor” Olga Vdovenko due to her professional activities. When the journalist was returning home, an unknown man was waiting for her at the apartment building entrance. He threatened her and her child, and told her "not to meddle in others’ business." On the next day, the journalist filed a complaint with the local police department, yet the case was not started, and police advised her to address her local police inspector. The journalist thinks that the threat was due to her professional activities, as on her web-portal she writes articles about construction, economy of the city, the city council’s land allocation decisions and possible corruption schemes in this sphere. The journalist plans to file complaint to local prosecutor's office.
