On November 18 in Kharkiv, mass media representatives were not allowed for the first session of the newly elected Kharkiv city council where the re-elected mayor Hennadiy Kernes was supposed to take his office vows, Radio Liberty reports.
Neither central nor local mass media journalists were allowed in. All entrances to the building were closed and defended by riot police wearing full gear, including helmets.
The city council’s press service informed the journalists that it had nothing to do with such measures.
