In Ivano-Frankivsk, journalist from Firtka was not allowed to meeting of Automotive Roads Service’ bidding committee
On August 14 in Ivano-Frankivsk, journalist of the local Internet media outlet “Firtka” was not allowed to be present at the meeting of the bidding committee of the Automotive roads Service for Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. As the media outlet report, the journalist was rudely pushed away with words "get out of here, later you'll find out online what happened here." After the discussion, the bidding committee was supposed to declare winners for road repairs of major oblast highways. At that, the right of press to be present at winner declaration is directly mentioned in the Law of Ukraine "On conducting State Procurement".
IMI media lawyer Roman Holovenko says that the law mentioned above grants journalists only the right to be present on the stage of procurement, when the price is made public. Before that, journalist rights are violated only if they are not allowed to be present at the meeting while other people who are not Committee members are allowed to.
