In Donetsk, armed gunmen demanded to shut off "Radio Era FM"
On May 12, around 10 a.m. in Donetsk broadcasting of «Radio Era FM» was shut off. Unidentified armed men forced the staff of Donetsk TV center owned by RRT Concern (Donetsk, Kuybysheva Street 61) to shut off the «Radio Era FM» transmitter. Its frequency is currently used by the Russian radio station «Vesti».
For the context, on April 28, the separatists, which took over Donetsk TV center, shut off all Ukrainian national and local channels. Their frequencies are now used to broadcast Russian TV channels. RRT Concern informs that digital broadcasting was also switched off.
RRT Concern addressed the Council of National Security and Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the Security Service of Ukraine concerning urgent response and taking action to free the RRT Concern's strategic object in Donetsk oblast. This station's TV and radio broadcasting covers 2 million dwellers of the city and of the oblast.
