In Dnipropetrovsk, communal newspaper complained to Ombudsman about city council’s inaction

On April 4, the editorial office of Dniprtopetrovsk newspaper “Zoria” (the newspaper of Dnipropetrovska Oblast Council) sent an address to the Special Commissioner on Human Rights in the Verkhovna Rada regarding absence of responses to request sent to the speaker of the Oblast Council Borys Filatov. The address was published on The requests were received in the city council on March 3 and March 4. The requests were about the New Year celebration Fair and repairs conducted by the Council's department in 2015. The first request was answered only partly, and the second one was not answered at all, as Serhiy Cherniavskyi, director of the newspaper, says. Thus, the newspaper decided to request the Ombudsman to respond to violation of the right for access to information.
