In Dnipro, journalists were not admitted to executive committee session
Representatives of the communal enterprise “Municipal Guards” did not admit the journalist of “Bureau UA” Olha Fomenko to the session of the executive committee of Dnipro city council, saying she was two minutes late. The police patrol summoned by the journalist also failed to help her to get to the session room. This was reported by IMI representative in Dnipropetrovska oblast.
The incident took place on May 26.
The media outlet’s editor Olha Yudina commented on this for the local IMI representative, saying that the whole setup was probably to get through the committee a backdated decision on increase of transportation fee for certain public transit routes in the city, which was supposed to be already in force.
The journalist was allowed in by the vice-head of the department for civil order and security Dmytro Zymnyi later, when the journalists called a police investigation team to register their complaint, but, according to Yudina, by that time the decision was already registered as if it was taken on May 22.
