In Crimea, the only newspaper in Ukrainian language closed down

29.03.2016, 13:33

The only in Crimea newspaper on social, literature and political issues published in Ukrainian "Krymska svitlytsia" closed down on the peninsula. The issue as of March 25 indicated that it was “the last issue of the newspaper”, Krym.Realii reports.

In the newspaper publication, the decision was reported to transfer the editorial office from Simferopol to Kyiv. The newspaper, founded by the Ministry of Culture, has been published in online form only since 2015.  The staff was offered an option – either moving to Kyiv, or staying in the occupied Crimea and cooperating locally based on a civil contract.
