In Crimea court kept blogger Memedeminov in custody

On April 10th, the Supreme court in Crimea has dismissed an appeal against extension of arrest of citizen journalist Nariman Memedeminov till May 16th, as to Crimea.Reality (page of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty). Edem Semedlyaev, legal counsel of Memedeminov, told the hearing of the court was closed door. The judge denied to uphold the request to hold open door hearing, referring to danger to several persons involved in the legal proceedings. Earlier, as it was reported, in the Republican Semashko clinic Nariman Memedeminov had a surgery. IMI informed The Kyiv district court in Symferopol prolonged the arrest of Nariman Memedeminov, civil journalist and blogger, who is charged with “propaganda of terrorism”. He is to be imprisoned until March 16th, as to “Crimea. Reality”. IMI informed earlier that on March 22, 2018 the law enforcement bodies of Russia detained in Symferopol the Tatar activist and blogger Memedeminov on charge of public appeals through the internet to commit terroristic acts.
