In Chernivtsi, maternity hospital doctor tried to pry off camera from journalist's hands

On August 19 in Chernivtsi, a doctor at a local maternity hospital Victor Varvus tried to pry off from the hands of journalist Halyna Yeremitsa a photo camera, when she was taking pictures in the hospital. The journalist managed to take the photo of the obstruction attempt, and the filming crew of the "Inter" TV channel did the same.

As IMI learned from the city mayor’s advisor Iryna Karimova, currently the mayor is preparing an address to the prosecutor's office in relation to the incident. Also, he agreed to organize a meeting between the journalists and city medical officials for establishing normal communication and familiarizing the medics and health care officials with the rights and obligations of journalists.
