In Chernihiv, journalists were not permitted to be present at extended council discussing oblast budget for 2015

13.01.2015, 19:50

On January 13, in Chernihiv, local mass media representatives were not permitted to attend the extended council discussing of the local budget draft for 2015 and forecast of the oblast budget for 2016-2017. Serhiy Zhurman, acting head of Chernihiv oblast state administration, who chaired the council, asked journalists to stay only for the council opening, and to leave the assembly hall just after this.

Zhurman explained such actions by not wanting «certain people to use what they hear to show that not everything is ok with the budget draft».

The journalists that were put behind the door were from “Vysokyi Val”, TV and Radio Agency “Novyi Chernihiv”, representatives of Chernihiv Oblast TV and Radio Company and “Pik”.
