In Cherkasy, editorial office of "Molod Cherkashchyny" got attacked after article about Tulub

10.08.2014, 01:31

On August 7, in Cherkasy unidentified people smashed the editorial office of the newspaper “Molod Cherkashchyny”. The editorial office staff believes this was retaliation by some radical forces for the article published on August 6 about the ex-governor of the oblast Serhiy Tulub. According to the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Olha Laktionova, the incident took place at 3 p.m.  A group of about 15 middle-aged men and women with spray paint cans, egss, brilliant green, began threatening the staff in the editorial office, throwing eggs and brillian green at the walls and windows, and then left. While damaging the property, they were mentioning the article about Tulub. They were indignant that the article was not critiral enough. They did not say what organization they represent.

Police, the prosecutor’s office, and the local branch of the Security Service of Ukraine were contacted in the regard of the incident.

On August  7, at the press conference the head of the NGO “BlokPost” Oksana Tsyhanok told about the action they held together with the Right Sector. In response to the article published by the newspaper «Molod Cherkashchyny» about Tulub, the activists went to visit its editorial office and to express their protest by pouring brilliant green and throwing around toilet paper.
