On July 8, in the village of Chervona Sloboda (Cherkaska oblast), correspondent of Cherkasy TV channel «Antena» Roman Shovenko was injured by village chief Mykola Kotko and his assistant. An attempt to obtain a comment on merging of territorial communities ended up in physical pushing and threats by the officials. A criminal case was started by the police based on the fact of obstruction to a journalist.
