On July 27, due to heavy fire the illegal armed groups were aiming at journalists in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone, a Polish national working as a correspondent for Espresso TV Bianca Zalewska was badly wounded. She was taken by the military to the closest hospital – in Staroblisk, Luhanska oblast. After she received first aid she was evacuated by a helicopter to Kharkiv for surgery. Together with the Ukrainian servicemen, Zalewska was returning from the ATO zone to the airport, and their car got hit by a sniper and turned over. Bianca sustained a broken spine and a collarbone and some damage to kidneys. Later she was to be moved to Kyiv for further treatment.

A Polish consul came to see her at hospital to offer help.
