25.05.2014, 17:57

On May 24, the reporter of the program «Fakty Tyzhnia z Oksanoiu Sokolovoiu» of the ICTV TV channel Tetiana Shtan was detained by Russian border guards at the crossing point at the border with the Crimean Autonomy. According to the TV channel’s press service, the incident took place during inspection of documents. First, Russian border guards took away Shtan’s passport, then forced her to leave the train carriage and detained for four hours without any explanation. Finally, Tetiana was told that she was a persona non grata in Russia, so she was not allowed to enter the territory of Russia, but no explanation was given why. She was sent to Melitopol. The management of the ICTV channel will address the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and request an official explanation.

Earlier, Tetiana Shtan was covering the situation in Crimea after its annexation, and showing different views of locals on the recent events in the peninsula.
