Huzhva says that summoned journalists of "Strana.ua" for interrogation under new case
The editor-in-chief of “Strana.ua” Ihor Huzhva reports about a new case, which was allegedly initiated due to intrusion into personal life of MP Anton Herashchenko. The editor-in-chief said this on July 3 at the press conference in Kyiv, “Detector media” reports.
“One more criminal case was started, which is now being fabricated against us. This procedure is on intervention into private life of politicians. To be more specific – of people's deputy Anton Herashchenko. His life was covered in our publications. We covered things like the house he lives in, a car he and his wife uses, etc. Based on this, he filed a complaint, and now they try to fabricate a new case against our journalists for intervention into personal life”, he said, adding that each politician is a public figure, and the public has a right to know about their wealth.
“Nonetheless, our journalists are being summoned for interrogations. And we see in this the single line of continued pressure against our media outlet”, he said. He explained that the Security Service of Ukraine was summoning journalists for interrogations.
In addition, as Interfax-Ukraina reports, with reference to “Strana.ua”, journalists of this media outlet sent an address to the Ambassadors of the G7 countries ant to the EU office in Ukraine complaining about the government's pressure against them.
