Hromadske radio collects 134 thousand UAH for FM-frequency in Kyiv

Hromadske radio is raising UAH 134,000 (around $5 325) through a crowdfunding campaign to participate in the FM frequency contest in Kyiv and Kyiv region. “The project budget actually is made of one item. This is fee indispensable to take part in the frequency contest set by the National TV and radio council. We have to contribute 120 000 UAH. In addition, we have to pay work of Spilnokoshtu (crowdfunding plateform - n/t) . Thus, in all, we are to collect 134  000 hryvnia, ” the message reads. The editorial board also said one could support Hromadske by writing a letter to the National television and radio broadcasting council and ask to support their demand to provide Hromadske with FM frequencies in Kyiv and Kyiv region. “Actually, Hromadske radio operates through 16 transmitters in six regions of Ukraine. But for the most part, it's small towns or the awkward ultrashort wave band.
