Hromadske Radio is asking its audience for help to survive, the broadcaster reports.

“Hromadske Radio needs your help. Your help, our dear listeners, readers, all those who have been with us on this difficult path for many years. And those who joined us recently. Because freedom of speech is priceless, but it costs a lot,” the team writes.

The broadcaster reminded that in the course of the full-scale war:

  • some of their colleagues or their relatives enlisted in the army and the editorial office organized many meetings in support of the military and their families;
  • they continued to report on the events in Ukraine;
  • they started broadcasting in Pokrovsk, Donetsk oblast (the broadcaster's equipment was later destroyed by Russian shelling);
  • they created an instruction and a way for readers to access it in the occupied territories despite Russia's blocking;
  • the occupiers captured or destroyed nine Hromadske Radio transmitters located right on the front line or in the territories already occupied;
  • got included in the interactive Recommended Media Map based on the third wave of monitoring study by the Institute of Mass Information and Detector Media;
  • was included in the IMI's list of the highest-quality Ukrainian online media outlets (the so-called Quality List);
  • expanded to new frequencies and launched new programs.

“Despite everything, we survived and looked for funding, resources, and continued to grow on our own. […] All this goes to show that it is important to you, our audience, to have an objective media outlet that does panicmonger, but also does not promise hope when there is none. It is important for us to preserve Hromadske Radio for you. Your donation is our voice,” Hromadske Radio writes.
