'Hotline' created to advise journalists on election day

25.10.2012, 00:06

Media lawyers from the Regional Press Development Institute and an independent regional network of media lawyers from the group TSILODOBOVO!, have created a hotline to provide advice to journalists before and during this weekend's election. The hotline will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 28 and 29.

Journalists may call any of the media lawyers below for advice about:

- The right of journalists to stay at polling stations on election day and during the counting of votes;

- Procedures for journalists to follow in cases of violation of journalists' rights at the polls;

- Effective arguments for PEC members to stay at the station;

- Taking photos, shooting video in election districts and polling stations.

Journalists may call any of the media lawyers listed below, regardless of region. Lawyers can provide oral advice, but do not go to the place where the journalist's rights have been violated.
