Hearing on Vyshinsky case adjourned due to absence of suspect

The Podolsky district court in Kyiv has adjourned hearing within the legal proceedings of Kirill Vyshinsky, editor in chief of RIA News Ukraine, as to Vyshinsky’s lawyer Andrei Domansky.
They failed to convet Vyshinsky to the courtroom, despite the court’s request.
Today, the judges had to complete reading out the indictment in the case.
On March 5th, they delivered to Vyshinsky the indictment and the register of files of pre-trial investigation. The preliminary case hearing took place on March 26th in Podilsky district court in Kyiv. At present, Vyshinsky is detained by Lukyanivske detention center in Kyiv, where he had been sent from Kherson.
IMI reported on March 26, the Podilsky district court in Kyiv extended his arrest till May 24th. On March 6th, office of public prosecutor of Autonomous republic of Crimea referred indictment to head of RIA novyny-Ukraine Kyrylo Vyshynsky to Kyiv Podilsky district court for consideration on the merits.
On May 15th, 2018, the Security Service of Ukraine reported to reveal activity of some media institutions controlled by Russia used as tool within the hybrid war against Ukraine. The SSU detained Kyrylo Vyshynsky, head of RIA novyny Ukraine. He had been charged with high treason.
