Governor of Lviv oblast filed a lawsuit against newspaper "Ekspres"

On May 6, the head of Lviv Oblast State Administration Iryna Sekh filed a lawsuit against the newspaper “Ekspres” with the demand to refute the accusations that she and he family were involved in mass felling of woods in Lviv oblast. On May 12, she informed in the briefing in Lviv Oblast State Administration. The lawsuit is about the article "Sekh, stop cutting woods down", which was published in "Ekspres" on March 27. In his turn, the newspaper editor-in-chief Ihor Pochynok emphasized that the media outlet's journalists have not conducted yet any investigations into Sekh's concerning illegal activities. The information that the governor demanded refuted was "Ekspres"' report from the public activists' picketing in front of Lviv Oblast State Administration (since the beginning of March, several Lviv NGOs have held olready two pickets with demands to Iryna Sekh to stop holding the position of the head of Lviv Oblast State Administration and the position as a member of Parliament, which is illegal).
