Government formed new ministry on basis of Ministry of information policy

The Cabinet of Ministers is to form new Ministry of culture, youth and sports, by reorganizing the Ministry of information policy, according to governmental resolution No. 829 of September 2, “Some issues of optimization of the system of central bodies of executive power”. According to the decree, this is done to optimize the system of central executive authorities and in accordance with clauses 9 and 91 of Article 116 of the Constitution. "To create the Ministry of culture, youth and sports of Ukraine, by reorganizing the Ministry of information policy and entrusting the established central executive authority with the tasks and functions of the Ministry of culture and the Ministry of youth and sports," the resolution reads. The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports is the successor in title to the property, rights and responsibilities of the liquidated Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the document states. IMI reported, on July 15, advisor to the President Zelensky on political issues, Mykyta Poturaev, told that the Ministry of information policy was going to be liquidated. In July, a candidate for parliament election from “Servant of the People”, Director General of “1+1” TV channel Oleksander Tkachenko claimed that “Servants of the People” party allowed the both ministries to be united. On July 21, the president Volodymyr Zelensky supported the idea of ​​uniting the Ministry of culture, the Ministry of information policy and the Ministry of youth and sports, voiced by the representatives of Ze! Team.
