German Interior Ministry proposed to empower secret service to intercept chats content

On March 26th the German Ministry of the Interior proposed to enlist the Federal department to protect constitution (Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz, BfV) with power to intercept encrypted content on messengers chats, as Deutsche Welle reported. The Ministry explained this measure became necessarily, as right extremists and fundamental islamists are using the messengers to commit the crimes. Also, the law enforcement agency suggested that BfV has to hold online searching supposing to get disguised access to computers, smartphones and other devices with purpose to be able to read its content in case of suscpictions the device’s user would prepare grievous crime.
