Funeral for deceased Radio Liberty journalist Vira Hyrych to be held on May 3
The funeral for Radio Liberty journalist and producer Vira Hyrych, deceased when a russian missile hit the house where she lived, will take place on Tuesday, May 3, at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv, Radio Liberty reports.
The funeral for Vira Hyrych will begin at 12:30.
Vira Herech (born 1967) was killed by a russian missile strike in Kyiv on April 28, while the UN Secretary General was visiting the city. The body of the dead journalist was found under the rubble of the apartment building on the morning of April 29.
Vira Hyrych is survived by her parents and an adult son. She had worked in the Kyiv bureau of Radio Liberty since February 2018, and before that – for the leading Ukrainian TV channels.
The presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Ukrainian and American diplomats, members of the public, and colleagues have reacted to Vira Hyrych's death.
