Freedom of speech committee supported draft on counteraction to propaganda of the aggressor state

The Verkhovna Rada Committee for freedom of speech and informational policy recommended the parliament to adopt in the first reading, as the basis, the draft No.7299 “On Television and Radio Broadcasting” regarding informational safety and counteraction to propaganda of the aggressor state”. The decision was approved on December 6 at the scheduled session of the Committee, “Detector media” reports. The authors of the draft are MPs Viktoria Siumar, Olena Kondratiuk and Olha Chervakova. The draft grants to the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine a right to order production of programs focused on debunking the Russian propaganda myths. Also, it extends the powers of administration of the National Public Radio and Television Company of Ukraine, enabling it to ban transmission from any entertainment even on the territory of the aggressor state if such broadcasts can have elements of propaganda.
