For several days, cable provider in Novovolynsk has been jamming 1+1 because of news stories about Liashko

For several days already, the only cable TV provider in Novovolynsk (Volynska oblast) TTI has been jamming the TV channel 1+1 during the programs about the leader of the “Radical Party” Oleh Liashko. This was reported by the deputy of Novovolynsk town council Rulsan Vlodarchyk to the management of the TV channel 1+1 on Facebook.

According to Vlodarchyk, in the recent days, from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m., during the evening news program, customers of the cable TV provider ТТІ instead of the TV channel 1+1 see nothing – no picture, no sound. Other channels are available as usual, and 1+1 can be received on analog antennas just fine.

This cable provider is owned by Viktor Yarema, the Pariamnetary candidate from Oleh Liashko’s Radical Party, who is running in the electoral district 19. A lot of local residents believe Yarema has 1+1 intentionally jammed when the news program shows stories about his party leader Oleh Liashko.

Another Radical Party’s Pariamnetary candidate, Oleksander Yurakov tried to sue 1+1 for allegedly false information the TV channel is presenting about Oleh Liashko. But the court denied his claim to take 1+1 off air with the verdict, «the channel must not conceal information significant for the society.»
