Flash mob in support of Sushchenko held in Paris at "Salon du Livre"

In Paris within the annual Fair “Salon du Livre” Ukrainian activists held a flash mob in support of Roman Sushchenko, as to “Den” daily. “This flashmob in support to Roman Sushchenko coinciding in time with presentation of the book signed by Lera Burlakova “Under the blue sky of Donbas”, as Alla Lazareva, correspondent fot Tyzhden weekly in Paris wrote at her page of Facebook, signing the pictures of participants holding the posters with Sushchenko’s portrait with call to set him free. This year, “Salon du livre”, prestigious event in the domain of literature, is held in Paris on 15-19 of March. IMI informed that Roman Sushchenko, Ukrinform's Paris-based correspondent, had been illegally detained on September 30, 2016 in Moscow, where he arrived on a private trip. On October 7, 2016, he was charged with "espionage." On June 4, 2018, the Moscow City Court sentenced Sushchenko to 12 years in a high-security penal colony. The appeal against the sentence was filed on June 5. On September 12, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the verdict of the Moscow City Court.
