Five Ukrainian channels plan to broadcast for occupied Crimea

The National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine determined which TV channels will be broadcasting for the occupied Crimea. This was reported on the Council’s website. “On July 27, the National Council completed the competition for multiplexing (standard DVB-T2) in the village of Chonhar, Khersonska oblast, and determined the five TV and radio companies that will broadcast through it”, the statement reads. The winners were the TV channel “UА:CRIMEA ” (National Public TV and Radio Company), Chornomorska TV and Radio Company, channel “ICTV” (LLC “International Commercial TV and Radio Company”), Channel 5 (LLC “TV and Radio Company “NBM”) and TV channel “Priamyi” (LLC “TV channel “Tonis”). The broadcasting territory includes the village of Chonhar, Khersonska oblast, the towns of Djankoy and Krasnoperekopsk as well as Djankoyskyi and Krasnoperekopskyi rayons of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. On March 17, a TV tower for broadcasting over Crimea was opened in Chonhar.
