Ex-deputy threatened journalist from Cherkasy with physical violence

On April 17, former deputy of Cherkasy city council Andriy Kovalchuk threatened journalist of TV channel “VIKKA” and author of the show “Provocation” Valentyn Cherniavskyi and his family members with physical violence.

According to Cherniavskyi, the cause of these threats was the latest "Provocation". It was about a disputed site in Cherkasy micro-district "Dakhnivka", which due to prolonged court litigation is not being cleaned.

On April 17, Cherniavskyi wrote on his Facebook page: “Just now I received a call from former deputy of the city council Andriy Kovalchuk (person affiliated with the company “Agro-Polis”, whose contract of lease of the river front with the city council was terminated) and threatened me and my family with physical violence. I intend to file complaint to police”.
