The European Union expects the authorities of Armenia to duly probe into the death of Mger Egiazaryan in custody. He died this week-end after a long hunger strike protesting against his imprisonment, as the spokeperson for EU Foreign Affairs of the European Commission Maja Kocijančič told at press point, as to UkrInform.
Mger Egyzaryan was editor in chief of news web-site Haynews.am, he was also one of the leaders of the political party “Armenian Eagles: United Armenia”. He had been arrested in last December, charged with frauds. On 5th of December he went on hunger strike, to protest againt his detention.
