Employees of "National newspaper and magazine publishing house" protested against their supervisor, newly appointed by the Ministry of Culture
On July 27 near the Cabinet of Ministers, there was a protest event of employees of the state-owned enterprise «National newspaper and magazine publishing house». Its goal was to bring the publishing house' urgent problems to attention of the Prime Minister Areseniy Yatseniuk and Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Culture Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, as staff representatives told the journalists of "Telekrytyka". The protesters carried slogans "Protect Culture from Ministry of Culture", "We need "Ukrainian Theatre"". According to them, the Ministry of Culture and its appointed supervisors are destructively intervening into the publishing house' activities; in particular, they want to close down many specialized periodicals on theatre, music and similar topics related to culture.
