Elections in Volyn: impediment to activities of journalists, observers and candidates – OPORA

In Lutsk, at 2 a.m. on October 26, the observers, candidates, and journalists were not allowed to be present at an evening session of the district election committee. OPORA press service informs about this. The head of the committee said no one has a right to enter the room where the session is held except committee members, including candidates, observers and journalists, rendering the session completely non-transparent. The civil Network OPORA observers filed a complaint to the police on this incident, as it violates both the Law "On Local Elections" and provisions of the laws regulating journalism.
