Editor-in-chief of "Timer" searched and taken for interrogation to SSU

14.05.2015, 23:07

On May 14, in Odesa, officers of the local branch of the Security Service of Ukraine searched apartments of the editor-in-chief of the web portal “Timer”, Yuriy Tkachov, and of one of the portal’s journalists, Anton Dotsenko. After this, Tkachov was taken to the building of the Security Service of Ukraine for interrogation.

Tkachov's neighbors who acted as witnesses during the search, say that the search was thorough, yet adequate. Law enforcers confiscated some objects from the apartment. The journalist was not accused of anything officially, yet he was taken for interrogation. SSU officers also interrogated Anton Dotsenko and another "Timer" journalist, Anastasiya Chornovol; a former employee of the media outlet Stanislav Kozlikin was summoned for interrogation, too.

It is still unknown what is being investigated and what the charges against the journalists are.

Odesa journalists demand that the oblast branch of the Security Service of Ukraine explain why the journalists of "Timer" are being interrogated, and their apartments are being searched.
