Editor-in-chief of newspaper "Naftovyk Boryslava" claims he was illegally detained and threatened with physical violence
The editor-in-chief of the newspaper «Naftovyk Boryslava» Petro Mahur claims that in Boryslav, Lvivska oblast, at the session of the town council unidentified persons in fact took him hostage and pressured him severely. He filed a complaint to police about obstruction to his professional journalist duties. This was reported by Lviv oblast organization of the National Union of Journalists.
For about two hours, these unidentified persons were illegally holding the journalist «under arrest», offending and threatening him with physical violence, and would not even let him go to the bathroom alone.
Petro Mahur believes such behavior was caused by the materials published in «Naftovyk Boryslava» about local protests and other high-profile events.
