"Dzerkalo Tyzhdnia" is being sued for article on illegal sale of weapons by governmental agencies

The state concern «Ukroboronprom» and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine filed a claim against the weekly “Dzerkalo Tyzhdnia”, the author writing for the weekly, Dmytro Mendeleyev, and the volunteer from the battalion “Azov”, Svitlana Zvarych, DT.UA informs.

Both organizations decided to defend their business reputation after Dmytro Mendeleyev’s article "Shadow of war" was published in DT.UA. The article states that Ministry of Defense and «Ukroboronprom» «cynically trade the goods that are needed at the front, launching a grand sale of weapons at the internal market».

  The journalists and volunteers are surprised by the response – as they say, even the claim’s materials contain proof of illegal activities of the Defense authorities. Instead of much needed reforms, they try to put blame for their corruption and obsolete procedures on the press.
