Driver of Dnipropetrovsk city council newspaper assaulted by unidentified people

01.04.2016, 16:30

In Dnipropetrovsk, on March 30, unknown men assaulted the driver of the city newspaper "Nashe Misto" ("Our City"). The newspaper administration is convinced that the assault is related to professional activities of its journalists. This information was reported by the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Tetiana Valihurska, IMI regional correspondent reports.

The driver does not remember the details of the attack, and he refused to go to the hospital to treat his injuries (bruises and grazes).

The newspaper staff reports that they started to receive threats to their Facebook account since the newspaper published information that Oleksander Vilkul from "Opposition Bloc" was stripped of his title of the honorary citizen of the city.

Tetiana Valihurska says that the attackers narrowly missed her, as she left the car 15 minutes before that assault and went home on foot. Also, nothing was taken from the driver, so it could not be robbery.
