Deputy of Sumy oblast council assaulted journalists with fists and tried to break camera

In Sumy, a member of the local oblast council, who got into a traffic accident, was aggressive to journalists who wanted to learn the accident’s circumstances.

As the journalists approached the site of the accident, one of the drivers, who was the councilor of the oblast council Vasyl Makarenko, as it was discovered later, attacked them and tried to knock the camera from the cameraman’s hands. In 2010, Makarenko was the head of the local penitentiary service, now he is the local councilor from the party "Volia Narodu" (incorporating many former "Party of Regions" members).
