Denys Bihus received international Democracy Award-2017 in US

The investigative journalist, author and host of the program “Nashi Hroshi” and founder of the project “Declarations” Denys  Bihus  was awarded ah honorary Democracy Award-2017. The awarding ceremony took place on June 7 in the United States Capitol, informs Bihus.info.

This year, the award for achievements in the sphere of combating corruption was given to 5 activists: from Angola, Afghanistan, Guatemala, Malaysia, and Ukraine.

“This recognition of thousands of people, who with their actions are daily confirming their desire for the better future ”, said Denys  Bihus during the awarding ceremony.

The Democracy Award-2017 is awarded every year for particular contribution in development of democracy and protection of human rights and freedoms in different countries of the world.

The National Endowment for Democracy, NED is a U.S.-based NGO founded in 1983 to promote emergence and consolidation of democratic institutions all over the world.

Every year, with the financial support from the U.S. Congress, NED provides grants to support more than 1000 projects of foreign NGOs, which establish the democratic principles in more than 90 countries.
