Criminals stole domain of website "Khvylia"

On August 8, unknown perpetrators stole three domains of the website “Khvylia”, in particulat, its key domain – hvylya.org. They also tried to steal the data from the servers but this was prevented, this was reported by ‘Hvylia’s editor-in-chief Yuri Romanenko on his Facebook page.

According to him, in the course of the attack, the perpetrators seized control over the registration email, and the registrar accepted the scans of the passport received from this email and conducted re-registration of the domain names.

 This is a huge loss for the media outlet. They believe the attack was conducted by Russian hackers.

 They filed a complaint to the police, the investigation is pending.

They also bought a new domain name.
