Criminal proceeding started on surveillance over the journalist of "Skhemy"

Based on the fact of surveillance over  the journalist of investigation program "Skhemy", Oleksandr Chornovalov, a criminal proceeding was opened according to article 182, part one, of the  Criminal code of Ukraine (illegal collection, storage, use or proliferation of confidential information about a person without their consent). This is substantiated by the extract from the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations, Radio Liberty reports. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by Darnytske police department of the Chief Administration of National Police in Kyiv. As IMI reported before, on October 20 the administration of the program of journalist investigations “Skhemy” (joint project of Radio Liberty and TV channel “UA: First”) published the fact of surveillance over the journalist of the program, Oleksandr Chornovalov. Laterly, the journalist noticed he was being tailed at least three times. Oleksandr Chornovalov works in the investigation program "Skhemy" since the time it was created in 2014. Since then, he published a number of high-profile materials exposing corruption of high officials.
