Crimean Tatar newspaper "Quirim" suspended for lack of financing

11.06.2015, 14:21

The Crimean Tatar newspaper Qirim suspended its activities due to absence of financing. It is not published for the second week already. According to its editor-in-chief Bekir Mamutov, the media outlet was supposed to be funded by Hasprynskyi media center, which was created with support of the Crimean authorities. The center was planned as a unity of all national Crimean media outlets, yet the financing was not fully streamlined. It is expected that the financing will be provided when the structure of the media center is completely approved - supposedly, this month. The newspaper "Quirim" has been issued since July 1989; its number of copies now is about 4 thousand.
